What is Awana?
Awana is an international youth program that began in Chicago, IL in 1950, and has since spread around the world with over 12,000 clubs in the U.S. By 1972 Awana had begun its first international club. Today children and youth in more than 100 countries participate in the Awana program, and there are over 10,000 clubs internationally.
Awana derives its name from 2 Timothy 2:15close2 Timothy 2:15 15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. How do I become a part of this Awana club?
New students and their parents are always welcome, and upon their first visit will receive an information packet to take home. This packet will contain detailed information about the Awana clubs at Dixon Baptist Church, including costs. Students of other Awana clubs who are visiting the Greenville area are also welcome to visit when they are in the area. There is no charge for their participation. NOTE: While there are costs associated with the Awana program, we do not want cost to be a hindrance to any student. Please contact the Awana Commander if cost is an issue for you or your family.
